Evidential Medium, Author & Spiritual Teacher

Strengthening the Link is a practical guide by evidential medium Hannah Macintyre, and the ninth book in the Mediumship Matters Mini Guides. It’s for mediums who can already make contact with spirit and want to know what comes next: how a link builds, when to explore an impression, and how to let a reading move from evidence into message.

You’ve got a yes. Now what?
You’ve made a connection. You’ve said what you’re getting. Your sitter recognises who you’re talking about.
Brilliant. Now what?
So many readings stop growing right there. Nine minutes of facts in a ten-minute link, and then a panicked “they love you and they’re around you” as the time runs out. This book is about everything that can happen in between.

Why I Wrote This Book
I used to think a better reading meant more evidence. More facts, more yeses, and perhaps a name so specific the sitter fell off their chair.
I still love good evidence. But spirit had to make me look at what I was doing with it. Sometimes the sitter already knew exactly who had come through, and I was still asking for proof, because I wanted to feel sure I was doing a good job. That was uncomfortable to admit.
Understanding how a link actually builds changed my mediumship. When you know where you are in a reading, you stop expecting first gear to do sixth gear’s job, and you stop mistaking one wobble for a lost link. That’s what I want to give you here: not rules to memorise while a sitter watches you panic, but a way to recognise what you’re experiencing, so you can work with the connection you have.

What You Will Learn
-
The gears of a reading: what you can do with the link in first gear compared with fifth or sixth
-
The steam train and the tipping point: how momentum builds, and when you can slow down
-
The three energies in a reading, spirit, you and the sitter, and whose need you’re really following
-
What to do after the first yes, and how to know when to stop proving
-
Why the magic is in the message, and how to give spirit room to say what they came to say
-
How to keep the sitter with you, recover when the link changes, and build your mediumship battery

Who This Book Is For
Strengthening the Link is ideal if you:
-
Can make contact with spirit, but your readings tend to stall after the first few pieces
-
Spend most of a reading on evidence and rush the message at the end
-
Lose your confidence when a link dips, or when a sitter says no
-
Read with your eyes closed and want to bring the sitter into the reading
-
Want to hold a link for longer without exhausting yourself
It builds on Evidential Made Simple, so it’s best suited to developing mediums who have already started working with spirit.

What Is Strengthening the Link About?
Strengthening the Link by Hannah Macintyre is Book 9 of the Mediumship Matters Mini Guides, a series of short, practical books on mediumship development. It’s a guide for developing mediums about what happens once a connection with spirit has been made. It covers the three energies in a reading (spirit, medium and sitter), the gears of a reading, building momentum and the tipping point, what to do after a sitter’s first recognition, knowing when to stop proving, delivering a meaningful message, keeping the sitter included, recovering when a link changes, and building your mediumship battery through practice and review. Written in Hannah’s warm, funny and practical style, it helps mediums move beyond evidence-gathering to readings with presence and meaning.
About Hannah
Hi, I’m Hannah Macintyre — evidential medium, Amazon bestselling author, podcast host, and spiritual mentor. For over a decade, I’ve been supporting people to explore their sensitivity and connection with Spirit in a grounded, accessible, and deeply human way.

I don’t believe mediumship is reserved for a chosen few. I believe it is a natural capacity that many of us carry, often quietly, and that with the right understanding and encouragement, it can be developed with confidence.

My own journey was not instant or dramatic. Like many people, I doubted what I was receiving and assumed I needed certainty before I could trust it. What I learned is that mediumship is not about getting everything right. It is about listening, responding, and allowing communication with Spirit to unfold.

I used to think a better reading meant more evidence. Spirit taught me it means more room for the person, and that’s what I want for your readings too.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the gears of a reading?
It’s Hannah’s way of describing how a link builds. In first and second gear there’s a lot of you in the mix, so you give short, clear pieces and keep moving. From third gear you have enough blend to stay with an impression and let spirit show you more. Fifth and sixth feel like there’s very little of you in the way. You don’t need sixth gear to give a good reading.

How do I know when I’ve given enough evidence?
Listen to the sitter. Once they’ve recognised who you have, ask yourself who needs the next fact. Sometimes the sitter needs more to feel certain. But sometimes they already know, and the medium is still asking spirit to prove it for their own reassurance.

Why does my reading stall after the first few pieces of evidence?
Often it’s because each early impression is being examined, double-checked or improved before it’s shared. Hannah describes early evidence as coal on the fire of a steam train. Give it plainly and keep going, and the momentum builds until you reach the tipping point, where you can slow down and explore.

Should I keep my eyes open during a reading?
Hannah recommends it. With your eyes closed, the sitter can feel left out of a private conversation between you and spirit. Including them helps the link, because their recognition feeds the power of the reading.

Is this book suitable for beginners?
It’s designed for mediums who have already begun working with spirit. If you’re just starting, Mediumship Made Simple and Evidential Made Simple are the best places to begin.

Let Spirit Speak
There’s a person in spirit and a person sitting in front of you. Your job is to help them reach each other.
Evidence makes that possible. Then you have to give spirit room to say what they came to say.
Build the connection you have, work with the gear you’re in, and keep showing up, one honest reading at a time.
