Mediumship Matters Mini Guide #10

A practical, honest guide to oracle cards, pendulums, crystal balls and reading anything at all

Books (10).jpg

Oracles and Objects is a practical guide by evidential medium Hannah Macintyre, and the tenth book in the Mediumship Matters Mini Guides. It covers how to read oracle cards, pendulums, crystal balls and everyday objects with spirit. It also shows why the information was never in the cardboard: it comes from spirit, through you.

Leave the book in the box

Hannah owns a couple of hundred packs of oracle cards, more crystal balls than any one woman needs, and an enormous Labradorite ball called Morpheus. So this isn’t a book telling you to put your spiritual stuff on eBay.

It’s a book telling you that you could read without any of it, and showing you how to read with it properly when you do.

Why I Wrote This Book

When I first started reading cards, I was a nightmare. I carried a pack in my handbag and read for anybody who’d sit still long enough.

What I wish somebody had told me is the practical stuff. How to actually shuffle. What to do when a card goes flying onto the floor. Why I don’t bother with reversals. Why I will never, ever open the little book that comes in the box. And how a screwed-up bit of A4 paper can give you as good a reading as a crystal ball that cost more than your car.

Once you understand how a tool really works, that it’s a starting point and spirit bring the meaning fresh every time, your readings stop being an exam you’re trying to pass and start being a conversation.

What You Will Learn

  • Why you don’t need oracle cards, and how to use them brilliantly anyway

  • How to shuffle, pick and read cards without describing the picture or reaching for the guidebook

  • How to let a reading lead, and what to do when the cards say something your sitter doesn’t want to hear

  • How to work with a pendulum, and why it reads the energy of now, not your fixed future

  • Crystal balls and scrying, including how to read from a scrunched-up piece of paper

  • How anything can be an oracle, from twigs and buttons to invisible cards

What Is Oracles and Objects About?

Oracles and Objects by Hannah Macintyre is Book 10 of the Mediumship Matters Mini Guides, a series of short, practical books on spiritual and mediumship development. It’s a down-to-earth guide to reading oracle cards, tarot, pendulums, crystal balls and everyday objects with spirit. It covers shuffling and choosing cards, reading intuitively without a guidebook, letting a reading unfold, handling difficult messages, using a pendulum, scrying, reading any object as an oracle, and the rules around cleansing and charging tools. Written in Hannah’s honest, funny style, it shows readers that the tools offer a way in, while the information comes from spirit through them.

About Hannah

Hi, I’m Hannah Macintyre — evidential medium, Amazon bestselling author, podcast host, and spiritual mentor. For over a decade, I’ve been supporting people to explore their sensitivity and connection with Spirit in a grounded, accessible, and deeply human way.

I don’t believe mediumship is reserved for a chosen few. I believe it is a natural capacity that many of us carry, often quietly, and that with the right understanding and encouragement, it can be developed with confidence.

My own journey was not instant or dramatic. Like many people, I doubted what I was receiving and assumed I needed certainty before I could trust it. What I learned is that mediumship is not about getting everything right. It is about listening, responding, and allowing communication with Spirit to unfold.

I own far too many oracle decks, and I’ll keep buying them. But I want you to know you could read without any of them

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to learn the meanings of oracle cards?

No. The meaning is usually written on the card. Hannah suggests leaving the guidebook in the box and asking spirit what the card means for this person, today. The same word can mean something completely different for two different people.

Should I read reversed cards?

Hannah doesn’t. She turns them the right way up, because working out the opposite meaning pulls her into her head and out of the connection. If reversals add something for you, use them. Spirit work with whatever intention you set.

Can a pendulum predict the future?

In Hannah’s experience, a pendulum reads the energy as it is right now, including your own hopes and fears. It’s a tool for growth, not a direct line to a fixed future, and it’s easy to influence when you care about the answer.

Do I need to cleanse my cards or charge my crystals?

Only if it helps you. Hannah believes the energy of your tools responds to your intention. Her own clearing ritual is simply deciding that the deck is clear. If ritual helps you feel ready, enjoy it, as long as it doesn’t become a barrier between you and spirit.

Can I read without cards at all?

Yes. The book includes invisible card readings and object readings, to show that the information never lived in the cardboard.

You Are the Tool

The cards are lovely. The pendulum is fun. A twig from the dog walk can give somebody a message that changes their week. But none of them were ever doing the reading.

You were. Go and get your cards. Leave the book in the box.
