Spiritual development often becomes confusing when we try to force neat answers onto complex human experiences.

In this episode of Mediumship Matters, I respond to listener questions about crystals, spirit guides, free will, healing, therapy, and boundaries. Rather than offering rigid rules or prescriptions, this episode explores spirituality as something instinctive, relational, and deeply personal — shaped by choice, responsibility, and lived experience.

This episode is especially helpful if you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by spiritual “shoulds”, unsure where healing ends and personal responsibility begins, or conflicted about boundaries, anger, and compassion.

Crystals: Relationship Over Prescription

One of the first themes I explore is our relationship with crystals.

Rather than viewing crystals as tools with fixed functions — this crystal does this, that crystal does that — I share my belief that crystals are energetic allies that respond to intention, relationship, and need.

Crystals don’t require rigid rules or constant management. They carry their own intelligence and frequency, and they can support whatever you ask of them. Working with crystals becomes far more meaningful when it’s instinctive rather than prescriptive.

Spirit Guides, Time, and Shared Support

This episode also explores how spirit guides work.

Spirit guides are not limited by time or space, and they are not restricted to working with one person in the human sense. They are capable of offering focused, dedicated support to many souls simultaneously because time is a human construct, not a spiritual one.

Guides may stay with us for long periods, or step back as we grow — much like teachers in different phases of life. Their role is to support growth, not dependency.

Free Will and Why Guides Don’t Stop Harmful Choices

A powerful question in this episode asks why spirit guides don’t prevent people from making harmful or destructive choices.

The answer lies in free will.

Spirit guides can encourage, nudge, and support, but they cannot override choice. Human life exists for learning, responsibility, and growth — and that includes facing the consequences of our decisions.

This perspective doesn’t excuse harmful behaviour, but it helps explain why guidance does not equal control.

Spiritual Healing and Therapy Work Together

Another important topic in this episode is the relationship between spiritual healing and psychological support.

Spiritual development doesn’t replace therapy, counselling, or human support — and therapy doesn’t negate spirituality. In fact, the two often work best together.

Healing is not about identifying whether pain comes from a past life or this one. It’s about recognising what needs attention now and taking responsibility for healing it in this lifetime.

Boundaries, Anger, and Personal Responsibility

One of the most grounded themes in this episode is boundaries.

Spiritual maturity doesn’t mean suppressing anger or endlessly excusing harmful behaviour. Sometimes anger serves a purpose — it helps us draw lines, say no, and reclaim agency.

Soul contracts and compassion don’t require self-abandonment. Growth often involves recognising what we’ve allowed, setting boundaries, and choosing ourselves without guilt.
