Where Can I Practise Mediumship Online?

In all my years teaching developing mediums, one of the most common things I hear isn't how do I connect? — it's where on earth do I actually practise?
Because the hardest part of developing mediumship often isn't learning the theory. It's finding somewhere safe to sit with another person and give a reading. You can read every book, listen to every podcast and take every course going, but eventually you reach the moment where you have to open your mouth in front of someone — and that's where many developing mediums discover just how vulnerable this work really feels.
Mediumship develops through practice. Not perfect practice, not confident practice, just practice. And finding the right place to do it is where so many people get stuck.
The Real Problem With Practising Mediumship Online
At first glance, the internet looks full of opportunity — Facebook groups, Zoom circles, online schools, memberships and communities everywhere you turn. But not all spiritual spaces feel the same once you're inside them, and a developing medium who's already doubting themselves can have their confidence knocked surprisingly quickly.
None of this is unique to the internet, to be fair — you can walk into an in-person circle and find ego, harsh feedback or a competitive edge just as easily. But however it shows up, an environment where you feel judged every time you speak is the last thing you need when you're learning. Because mediumship asks for genuine vulnerability. You're learning to trust your own mind, your emotions, your intuition and your connection with spirit, often all at once. That's hard enough without feeling watched and weighed.
What Actually Helps Mediumship Development?
Here's something I've learned watching people develop over many years: the ones who progress most consistently are almost never the ones with the "most gifts." They're the ones who keep showing up. They practise regularly, they let themselves get things wrong, they stay curious, and they build trust in themselves gradually rather than expecting it overnight.
That's because mediumship isn't only about spirit communication. It's about confidence, emotional resilience, self-awareness, and learning to sit in uncertainty without shutting down. And all of those things grow far more easily in the right surroundings — which is exactly why the space you choose to practise in matters so much.
What To Look For in an Online Mediumship Community
If you're searching for somewhere to develop online, these are the things I'd personally look for:
A supportive atmosphere. You should feel encouraged, not intimidated — somewhere you can learn without shame.
Regular practice opportunities. Mediumship grows through repetition and experience. One course alone won't build lasting confidence.
A balance of structure and freedom. You want guidance, but you also need room to discover how spirit works with you specifically.
Ethical teaching. Be wary of anywhere promising instant mastery, constant accuracy or spiritual superiority. Real development is messier and more human than that.
Genuine community. Loneliness is one of the biggest struggles in spiritual development. Being among people who understand the process changes everything.
Why Online Development Can Work Brilliantly
There's still a myth that "real" mediumship development can only happen in person. I don't believe that for a moment. Working online lets people practise consistently, attend circles regularly, build real friendships and access teaching they might never find locally — all from wherever they are in the world.
And for a lot of people, practising from home actually feels safer at the beginning. It takes away some of the pressure that comes with walking into an unfamiliar spiritual space in person, which means you can focus on the work rather than your nerves.
Practising Mediumship Inside Spirit Social
Spirit Social grew out of exactly this need — for a calmer, kinder online space to develop and connect. Inside the platform, members can join development circles, attend live demonstrations, practise regularly with other developing mediums, take part in live events and discussions, and work through spiritual development content at their own pace.
The aim was never to build another noisy social media platform. It was to create somewhere people could genuinely grow — because developing mediumship is vulnerable enough already, without algorithms, drama and performance culture making it harder.
Whether you're completely new or already actively developing, the right environment can make all the difference. And sometimes the biggest shift comes from the simplest realisation: you're not the only one finding it hard.
Come and See How It Feels
