Beyond the Guidebook
An eight‑week exploration of intuitive and Spirit‑led card reading
There comes a point where guidebooks stop being helpful.
You know the card meanings. You can follow spreads. But the reading feels flat, inconsistent, or overly mental. You sense there is something more happening, something trying to come through, but you are not quite sure how to listen to it.
Beyond the Guidebook is a live, eight-week course designed for beginners and developing readers who want to explore new, more intuitive ways of working with oracle cards. It focuses on learning how to read with the cards rather than from them, and on allowing Spirit to become part of the conversation.
This course is not about memorising meanings or rigid techniques. It is about developing confidence, trust, and fluency in your readings over time.
This course is designed specifically for oracle cards, not tarot decks — except tarot with printed card meanings visible.
What this course is really about
Reading cards intuitively is not a gift reserved for a few. It is a skill that develops through listening, practice, and permission to explore.
In this course, we move gently away from rigid systems and into a more responsive way of working. One that honours symbolism, sensation, intuition, and Spirit without losing structure or grounding.
You will be supported to discover how you read, not how you think you should.
We’ll move away from rigid meanings into a way of reading that feels alive, responsive, and true to you.

About Your Teacher
Hi, I’m Hannah Macintyre — evidential medium, bestselling author, podcast host, and spiritual mentor. For over a decade, I’ve been supporting people to explore their sensitivity and connection with Spirit in a grounded, accessible, and deeply human way.
I don’t believe intuitive or Spirit-led work is reserved for a chosen few. I believe it is a natural capacity that many of us carry, often quietly, and that with the right support, structure, and encouragement, it can be developed steadily and with confidence.
My own journey wasn’t dramatic or instant. For a long time, I doubted what I was receiving and assumed that working with Spirit required a level of certainty or special calling that I didn’t feel I had. What I came to understand is that meaningful spiritual work isn’t about force, performance, or getting things “right”. It’s about learning to listen, trust your responses, and allow communication to unfold naturally.
This understanding shapes how I work with oracle cards. Card reading, for me, is not about memorising meanings or following rigid systems. It is a conversation. A way of listening. A space where intuition, symbolism, and Spirit can meet in a grounded and supportive way.
I teach in a warm, down-to-earth way: honest, practical, and sometimes light-hearted, because this work should feel encouraging rather than intimidating. My focus is always on helping students understand what they’re experiencing, so they can give clearer, more confident readings without second-guessing themselves.
Through my books, courses, live programmes, and online community, I’ve supported thousands of students around the world to deepen their trust in their intuition, strengthen their confidence, and develop ways of working with Spirit that feel authentic and sustainable.
Beyond the Guidebook reflects how I believe card reading is learned best. Not through rigid instruction, but through exploration, practice, and relationship. By moving beyond guidebook meanings and learning to read with the cards, your readings can become more fluid, responsive, and alive.
Whether you are just beginning with oracle cards or looking to expand how you already work with them, my intention is that you feel supported, encouraged, and clearer in your reading, and that you leave this course with greater confidence in your own way of listening.
With love,
Hannah x

Frequently Asked Questions
This course is designed to feel spacious, supportive, and enjoyable, with room to explore, experiment, and learn without pressure.
Do I need experience with oracle cards?
No. This course is suitable for complete beginners as well as those who already use oracle cards but want to explore new, more intuitive ways of reading. Everything is taught step by step, with plenty of space to practise and ask questions.
Can I use tarot cards?
This course works best with oracle cards because of their open and intuitive nature. If you use a tarot deck with printed meanings visible and you’re comfortable working intuitively with it, you can use it — but oracle decks are recommended for this journey.
Will I actually learn how to do readings?
Yes. This course is very much about giving readings. The focus is on developing readings that feel clear, fluid, and responsive, rather than rigid or overly mental. You will be supported to read with confidence for yourself and, if appropriate, for others.
Is this about memorising meanings and spreads?
No. We work beyond guidebook meanings and fixed systems. You’ll learn how to respond to imagery, symbolism, intuition, and Spirit, so your readings feel more natural and alive.
Do I need mediumship experience?
No. You don’t need to be a practising medium or have prior development experience. Spirit is approached gently and accessibly, and you are encouraged to work at a level that feels comfortable for you.
What happens in each session?
Each session includes teaching, guided exercises, and time to practise reading with your cards. There is also space for reflection and questions. The atmosphere is supportive and exploratory rather than pressured.
Will I be put on the spot or asked to perform?
No. You are always invited, never forced. Sharing and practising out loud is encouraged, but you are supported to move at your own pace. This is a learning space, not a performance space.
Is this course fun?
Yes, in a grounded way. There is room for curiosity, exploration, humour, and those moments where things suddenly click. The work is taken seriously, but not heavily.
What if I feel unsure or lack confidence?
That’s completely normal. Most people join because they feel uncertain. Confidence is something we build together over time, not something you need to arrive with.
