How Mediumship Changes Over Time (And Why Spirit Loves to Keep You on Your Toes)

Mediumship is a journey.

And like all good journeys, it comes with twists, turns, detours, and the occasional feeling that you’ve completely lost the map and are now wandering through a metaphorical forest of doubt.

One minute, you’re getting crystal-clear messages, delivering names, dates, and details that make people’s jaws drop.

The next?

Static. ✨

It’s enough to make even the most seasoned medium yell, “Spirit, what the hell?!” into the void.

But here’s the thing: mediumship is meant to evolve. Spirit doesn’t let you stay in one place forever. They want growth, expansion, and—let’s be real—they enjoy shaking things up just to mess with you a little.

So, how does mediumship change over time? And more importantly, how do you keep trusting your connection when everything suddenly feels different?

Let’s dive in.

1. At First, It Feels Like a Cosmic Bootcamp

When you first start developing as a medium, everything feels intense.

🔹 Spirit energy is SO STRONG that it sometimes feels overwhelming.🔹 Your readings might be hit or miss—sometimes amazing, sometimes absolute chaos.🔹 The connection feels exciting, new, and super clear (most of the time).

At this stage, spirit tends to work loudly—big signs, big sensations, big “Holy crap, did that just happen?!” moments.

Why?

Because you’re still learning to trust it.

Spirit meets you where you’re at, and in the beginning, that often means being as obvious as possible.

2. Then… Things Get Subtle (And You Panic)

Once you’ve gotten used to big, obvious signs, spirit does something truly annoying:

They dial it down. ✨

Why?

Because mediumship isn’t about being spoon-fed.

Spirit knows you’re ready for deeper trust, so they shift things:🔹 Your once-obvious sensations start to feel lighter, gentler, more subtle.🔹 You don’t always get full sentences—just impressions, nudges, and a knowing.🔹 Messages start coming in faster—so fast that you don’t even realize you’re receiving them.

And, of course, your brain immediately goes:

🚨 “I’VE LOST MY CONNECTION.” 🚨

No, you haven’t. You’ve just levelled up.

The connection hasn’t gone—it’s just becoming more refined.

3. The Spirit “Training Wheels” Come Off

In the early stages of mediumship, spirit does a lot of the heavy lifting.

They step in close, they make things easy, they hold your hand.

But eventually, they step back.

Not because they don’t love you, but because they want you to trust yourself.

🔹 Instead of spoon-feeding you information, they make you reach for it.🔹 Instead of repeating themselves, they expect you to pay attention the first time.🔹 Instead of making it feel “special,” they integrate it into your everyday experience.

It’s like learning to ride a bike—at some point, they let go of the back of the seat. And you have to trust that you won’t fall.

4. Your Guides Will Change (Because Growth Requires New Teachers)

At some point, your main spirit guides will swap out.

Yes, really.

Your first guides are usually the ones who are helping you get started—the kind, patient teachers who walk you through the basics.

But once you’re past that stage?

New guides step in. ✨

🔹 They might have a different energy—more serious, more playful, more direct.🔹 They might push you harder, expecting more detail, deeper trust, and bigger leaps of faith.🔹 They might change the way they communicate just to keep you on your toes.

It’s all part of your development. Spirit doesn’t want you getting too comfortable.

5. Your Mediumship Might Shift in Ways You Don’t Expect

Just when you think you’ve “figured it out,” spirit decides to mix things up again.

Maybe you used to be clairvoyant, but now you get more clairsentience.Maybe you used to feel spirit on the left side, but now it’s the right.Maybe your readings used to come through in a certain order, and now they’re totally different.

This isn’t a mistake. It’s evolution.

Spirit wants you to stay open, so they keep changing things up.

The more you trust that shift, the easier it becomes.

6. You Learn That Trust Is Everything

At some point in your journey, you realize that mediumship is less about technique and more about trust.

🔹 Trusting that spirit is still there, even when they feel quiet.🔹 Trusting that your ability hasn’t disappeared just because it feels different.🔹 Trusting that every change is an upgrade, not a loss.

Mediumship is always evolving. The only way to grow with it is to let go of expectations and go with the flow.

Final Thoughts: Embracing the Change

Mediumship will never stay the same—and that’s a good thing.

It’s supposed to evolve. You’re supposed to evolve.

So the next time spirit changes things up on you?

Instead of freaking out, try this:

🔹 See it as a sign that you’re ready for more.🔹 Trust that spirit knows exactly what they’re doing.🔹 Lean in, adapt, and grow.

Because at the end of the day, spirit hasn’t abandoned you.

They’ve just taken off the training wheels.

And trust me—you’re ready for the ride.
