If you’ve ever found yourself wondering, “Why do I keep seeing blue around people?” or “What does it mean when I feel drawn to yellow?”—congratulations, you’re not losing your mind.

You’re just tuning into the language of energy.

Colour plays a HUGE role in psychic and mediumship work, but—here’s the fun part—there are no fixed rules.

That’s right. Forget those lists that say:🔹 Red always means passion!🔹 Blue always means healing!🔹 Green always means money!

Because while those meanings might be true for some people, spirit works with you in a way that makes sense for YOU.

So let’s break it down—how does colour work in mediumship and psychic readings? And more importantly, how do you figure out what it means when you see it?

Why Colour is Important in Psychic and Mediumship Work

Energy is fluid, dynamic, and constantly moving—so it makes sense that we perceive it in a variety of ways.

Some people see colour clairvoyantly—like a haze around someone, a flash in their mind’s eye, or even a full-on aura.

Others sense it intuitively—a strong feeling that “this person feels yellow” or “this situation feels dark blue.”

And some people just randomly feel drawn to a certain colour without knowing why—until they start talking about it, and suddenly it all makes sense.

The point is: colour is a tool. It helps you tune into energy, interpret emotions, and get more detail in your readings.

But before we talk about meanings, let’s talk about the biggest mistake people make with colour in spiritual work…

The Biggest Mistake? Sticking to a Set List of Meanings

A quick Google search will give you a hundred different interpretations of colour.

Some of them will tell you that:🔹 Red = passion, energy, or anger.🔹 Blue = healing, calm, or communication.🔹 Yellow = joy, confidence, or mental clarity.

And sure, those might be common associations—but here’s the thing:

Colour is personal.

One person might see red and immediately think of danger. Another might see red and think of warmth, strength, or even childhood memories of a cosy Christmas jumper.

So, which one is right?

Both.

Because spirit doesn’t work with a universal rulebook. They work with YOUR references, YOUR experiences, and YOUR intuition.

So if you see green and immediately think of your Nan’s old kitchen tilesthat might be spirit’s way of linking you to her presence.

If you see blue and it makes you feel melancholy instead of calmthat might be a message about someone’s emotional state.

Colour is not fixed. It’s fluid. And the more you let go of trying to force meanings, the easier it becomes.

How to Work with Colour in Readings

If you want to start using colour more in your psychic or mediumship work, here’s the best way to do it:

1. Notice What Colours You’re Drawn To

Before a reading, pay attention to any random colours that keep coming up.

🔹 Are you suddenly noticing a lot of yellow?🔹 Do you feel drawn to purple when thinking about a certain person?🔹 Does someone’s energy just “feel” blue, even if you’re not sure why?

Your subconscious picks up on way more than you realize. If you start paying attention to the colours that stand out, you’ll begin to see patterns.

2. Ask Yourself: How Does This Colour Feel to Me?

Instead of looking up a colour chart, ask yourself:

🔹 What does this colour remind me of?🔹 What emotions come up when I think about this colour?🔹 Where have I seen this colour before in my own life?

If you see red, does it feel like excitement? Danger? Power? Nostalgia? If you see blue, does it feel peaceful? Distant? Professional? Heavy?

Your personal associations matter more than any standard list.

3. Where Do You See the Colour?

If you’re doing a reading and you see colour in a certain place, that can be just as important as the colour itself.

🔹 Around a person’s head? Might be linked to their thoughts, stress levels, or spiritual awareness.🔹 Near their heart? Could be about emotions, love, or grief.🔹 On their hands? Might relate to healing, creativity, or something they physically do.

The location adds extra context—so pay attention to where you’re seeing or sensing the colour.

4. Play with It in Aura Readings

One of my favourite ways to work with colour is through auragraphs—a visual representation of someone’s energy.

Here’s how you can try it:

1️⃣ Tune into someone’s energy and see what colours you feel or see.2️⃣ Use those colours to “paint” their aura (either physically or just in your mind’s eye).3️⃣ Let the colours tell you a story.

  • Does one colour dominate?

  • Are there patches of darkness or brightness?

  • Does the aura feel heavy, scattered, vibrant, or fluid?

The key is to trust what comes up. Even if it makes no sense at first, say what you get!

The Evolution of Colour in Mediumship

Just like everything else in mediumship, your relationship with colour will evolve over time.

✨ At first, it might feel random—like you’re just seeing colours with no meaning.✨ Then, you’ll start recognizing patterns—certain colours linking to certain feelings.✨ Eventually, you’ll just know what a colour means when you see it.

It’s a language. And like any language, it takes practice.

Final Thoughts: Colour is a Tool, Not a Rule

If there’s one thing to take away from this, it’s this:

Colour is meant to guide you—not restrict you.

🔹 You don’t need to memorize meanings.🔹 You don’t need to force interpretations.🔹 You just need to trust what you feel and let the colours speak for themselves.

So, next time you sense a colour in a reading, instead of running to Google for a meaning—ask yourself what it means to YOU.

Because that’s where the real magic happens.
