From Sceptic to Spiritual Teacher: My Unexpected Mediumship Journey

Hello, beautiful souls! Today, I’m pulling back the curtain to share a story I never thought I’d be telling: how I went from full-on sceptic to spiritual teacher and medium. Yep, me. The person who once thought mediumship was all crystal balls, dramatic robes, and people whispering “I feel a presence...” Spoiler: it’s not. (Well, unless you’re into dramatic robes, in which case… you do you.)
The Early Days: Where’s the Logic?
I didn’t grow up talking to spirits or seeing things float around the room (thankfully). In fact, I was the first to roll my eyes when someone mentioned ‘energies’ or ‘auras.’ My motto was simple: If you can’t see it, measure it, or explain it, it probably doesn’t exist.
But life, as it does, had other plans.
The Wake-Up Call (a.k.a. Spirit Slapping Me with Signs)
It started with little things—gut feelings that turned out to be spot-on, dreams that felt more like visits than imagination, and random flashes of information I had no business knowing. I chalked it up to coincidence, intuition, maybe too much caffeine.
But spirit doesn’t do subtle when you’re stubborn. The signs got louder. Uncanny synchronicities, messages that came through with clarity I couldn’t ignore, and that overwhelming feeling of, “Okay, something is going on here.”
The Turning Point: “Is This Actually Real?”
One day, after yet another unexplainable experience, I stopped dismissing it and started exploring. I joined development circles, read everything I could, and practiced connecting with spirit… cautiously, of course. (I wasn’t ready to commit to being a “medium” just yet. That felt like too big a leap.)
But the more I leaned in, the more undeniable it became. Mediumship wasn’t about theatrics or special powers. It was about connection—natural, accessible, and yes, even a bit messy sometimes.
The Lessons I Learned Along the Way
You Don’t Have to Be “Chosen”:Mediumship isn’t reserved for a special few. It’s an ability we all have, like singing. Some people are naturals, others need practice, and some just shouldn’t do it professionally (looking at you, karaoke enthusiasts).
Doubt Is Healthy:Scepticism isn’t the enemy. It keeps you grounded, curious, and honest with yourself. I still question things, and that’s part of what makes my connection authentic.
Spirit Has a Sense of Humour:Seriously, they do. They’ll send signs, messages, and the occasional cosmic joke just to keep you humble.
You Can Be Both Spiritual and Sassy:You don’t have to fit the ‘spiritual’ stereotype to connect with spirit. You can be grounded, sarcastic, and still channel messages from the other side.
Why I Wrote My Book
My journey from sceptic to spiritual teacher inspired me to write 'You Are A Medium (You Just Don’t Know It Yet)' because I wanted to share the truth: mediumship is natural. It’s not mystical, unattainable, or something you need to be ‘born with.’
In the book, I break down what mediumship really is, how to recognise your own connection, and why it’s often more subtle than you think. Plus, I sprinkle in my own awkward stories because, well, that’s just who I am.
**Final Thoughts **
If someone like me—once a die-hard sceptic—can embrace mediumship, so can you. Your connection to spirit isn’t something you have to earn; it’s something you already have. You just need to recognise it.
So, if you’re curious, doubtful, or somewhere in between, check out 'You Are A Medium (You Just Don’t Know It Yet)'. It might just be the sign you didn’t know you were looking for.
