Mediumship Matters Podcast — Season 1, Episode 13

Silhouetted child faces giant spider in foggy, grayscale scene. Eerie, tense atmosphere with minimal background detail.

Fear spreads quickly — especially when it’s wrapped in spiritual language.

In this episode of Mediumship Matters, I explore fear, negativity, and responsibility in spiritual and online spaces. Prompted by experiences in other mediumship communities and wider social conversations, this episode looks at how fear is amplified, why it gains traction, and the responsibility we carry in what we share, consume, and project energetically.

This episode is especially relevant if you’ve felt overwhelmed by negativity online, unsettled by fear-based spiritual content, or unsure where the line is between awareness and amplification.

Why Fear Gains Power in Spiritual Spaces

Fear is compelling. It captures attention, creates intensity, and makes people feel involved.

In this episode, I talk about how fear-based spiritual content — haunted objects, demonic possession narratives, ominous signs — often spreads faster than grounded teaching. Not because it’s true, but because it stimulates emotion and reaction.

Fear doesn’t require discernment to spread. It feeds on imagination, suggestion, and repetition.

Haunted Objects, Demons, and the Problem With Sensationalism

One of the examples I discuss is the rise of sensational content involving “haunted” dolls, possessed objects, and demonic narratives presented as spiritual truth.

I don’t believe spirit works this way.

While objects can hold emotional or energetic residue, fear-based storytelling that suggests spirit is threatening, malicious, or lurking to frighten people creates unnecessary anxiety — especially for sensitive individuals.

If you claim to work with spirit, there is a responsibility not to exploit fear for attention or engagement.

Where Is the Line Between Warning and Feeding Fear?

A key question in this episode is: where is the line between awareness and amplification?

Using real-world examples — from social media fear cycles to local community panic — I explore how sharing unverified or outdated information can multiply fear rather than help.

Intent matters, but impact matters more. Repeating fear-filled narratives keeps them energetically alive.

Responsibility in What We Share

This episode invites listeners to pause before sharing.

Before reposting something alarming, it’s worth asking:

  • Is this current?

  • Is this verified?

  • Is this helpful?

  • What outcome am I hoping for?

Sharing fear doesn’t make us safer. Often, it just raises collective anxiety.

Spiritual awareness includes responsibility for the energy we contribute to shared spaces.

Law of Attraction Isn’t Just About Positivity

I also talk about the part of the Law of Attraction that’s often forgotten.

Focusing attention repeatedly on fear, danger, and worst-case scenarios doesn’t protect us from them — it reinforces them energetically. This doesn’t mean ignoring reality, but it does mean being conscious of where attention is placed.

Energy follows focus.

Protecting Your Energy Without Withdrawing From the World

Protecting your energy doesn’t require paranoia or isolation.

Sometimes it’s as simple as:

  • unfollowing fear-driven accounts

  • limiting exposure to distressing content

  • choosing not to engage with negativity

  • sharing light, kindness, and steadiness instead

You don’t have to absorb everything to be compassionate.

What It Means to Be a Lightworker

In this episode, I redefine what “being a lightworker” actually means.

It’s not about special abilities, constant positivity, or spiritual performance. It’s about:

  • choosing kindness

  • being present

  • offering calm where there is chaos

  • treating people with dignity

Lightwork is human work.

A Quiet Example of Integrity

I also share a personal story about witnessing quiet integrity in action — moments where care, compassion, and responsibility mattered more than visibility, status, or recognition.

True spiritual work often happens away from the spotlight. It’s not performative. It’s relational.
