Mediumship Matters Podcast — Season 1, Episode 16

Child in a hat stands at the bottom of wide, sunlit stone steps. The setting is minimalistic with a warm, serene atmosphere.

Spiritual development doesn’t happen in isolation. When our awareness changes, our energy shifts — and that can affect our relationships, our choices, and how we interact with others.

In this episode of Mediumship Matters, I explore energetic change, responsibility, free will, and the ethical line between insight and intrusion. We talk about what happens when your frequency changes faster than the people around you, why offering unasked-for spiritual advice can be harmful, and how to hold your energy without trying to control anyone else’s journey.

This episode is especially relevant if you’ve felt out of sync with your life, unsettled by energetic shifts, or unsure where responsibility begins and ends in spiritual work.

Understanding Energy Shifts Without Drama

I begin this episode by talking about energetic change — including what many people describe as collective shifts, awakenings, or changes in frequency.

Rather than framing this as something mystical or alarming, I explain it practically. When you begin working with awareness, healing, or spirit, your perspective changes. Your nervous system, focus, and emotional processing change too.

That can feel destabilising — not because something is wrong, but because something is different.

Why You May Feel Out of Place in Your Own Life

One of the most confusing parts of development is realising that the people around you haven’t changed — you have.

In this episode, I explain how energetic shifts can make everyday conversations, environments, and relationships feel heavier or more draining than they used to. This doesn’t mean others are “negative” or doing anything wrong.

It simply means you’re experiencing life from a new internal position.

Patience — with yourself and others — matters here.

You Are Not Responsible for Other People’s Growth

A crucial theme in this episode is responsibility.

Just because you’ve become more aware doesn’t mean it’s your job to change, enlighten, or advise others. Your role is not to deliver insight to people who haven’t asked for it.

Your responsibility is to:

  • live your own values

  • care for your own energy

  • respect free will

  • allow others their own timing

Trying to manage other people’s journeys often leads to conflict and burnout.

The Problem With Unwarranted Spiritual Advice

I share a clear distinction in this episode between psychic perception and spirit communication — and why that difference matters ethically.

Psychic awareness involves reading energy. Spirit communication involves consent and intention from the spirit world itself.

Sharing psychic impressions without permission — especially about health, relationships, or outcomes — can plant fear, anxiety, or false narratives. Even well-meaning comments can cause harm.

Spiritual awareness does not grant the right to interfere.

Why “I Meant Well” Isn’t Enough

Intent doesn’t cancel impact.

In this episode, I explain why comments like:

  • “I felt drawn to your energy”

  • “I sent you healing”

  • “I noticed something about you”

can cross boundaries if they weren’t invited.

Respecting someone’s autonomy is more important than proving insight.

Energy Protection Starts With Choice

A listener question in this episode asks how to protect your energy when you’re in a draining or volatile relationship.

My response is simple but important: no one can take what you don’t give.

Energetic boundaries aren’t about bubbles or rituals. They’re about mental clarity, choice, and self-respect. Saying “no” internally is often more powerful than any visualisation.

Free Will, Spirit, and Loss

The episode also addresses grief and signs from spirit — particularly the fear that warnings were missed or choices could have changed an outcome.

I speak honestly about free will. Spirit does not override human choice. Some experiences are part of a soul’s path; others arise from decisions made along the way.

Signs from spirit are offered for support, not to assign blame.

Responsibility Includes the Human Body

Another grounded point in this episode is personal responsibility for physical life.

Spirituality isn’t a replacement for self-care. Being “in service to spirit” doesn’t exempt anyone from looking after their health, habits, or wellbeing.

Spiritual maturity includes holding both awareness and responsibility at the same time.
